Telehandler Tires
Telescopic handlers, commonly referred to as telehandlers, find much use in multiple industries and agriculture. Due to the design of the vehicle and its use, a telehandler could be compared to a forklift, although its functions border those of a crane. Thanks to the telescopic boom, which extends upwards and forwards from the machine, a telehandler can perform a number of tasks.
The boom can be equipped with a number of attachments: bucket, winch, pallet forks, muck grab and more. Pallet forks are by far the most widely used attachments in industry, because they allow for the quick work of forklifts, with extended height reach. This essentially saves the need for a crane, the use of which might be time-inefficient or too impractical.
One of the main challenges that telehandlers face is that while bearing a load, the vehicle becomes unstable. Even though there are counterweights installed at the rear, the lifting capacity becomes limited proportionally to the increase of working radius. This means that a telehandler must be well-equipped to be able to perform well, no matter what task it is used in. Front stabilizers are not an uncommon update. Another thing that can help with stability is tire quality and type of tires used. When it comes to that, there is one notable option that can significantly improve performance – McLaren’s NuAir telehandler tires.
If there is one thing that separates conventional tires from McLaren’s NuAir telehandler tires, it is the Semi-Pneumatic TechnologyTM – proprietary of the company. In its essence, the design combines the benefits of pneumatic tires with the durable strength of solid rubber. With three layers of specially formulated rubber compound and numerous relief holes aimed at shock absorbing, the NuAir telehandler tires provide more than just superb performance. Forget about flats and downtime fixing those – with the NuAir tires it is no longer a possible issue.
- Nu-Air® Dirt Terrain (DT) Tire – since telehandlers are gaining popularity in many areas, the challenges they face increase and so must the essential component – tires. The NuAir series of tires provide everything essential for productive and safe work of telehandlers. Thanks to these tires, the ride is smooth and cushioned, allowing the operator to work steadily and productively with the machine. The DT line presents the most versatile of all telehandler tires. The traction they grant on any hard and off-road surface is amazing. They keep the vehicle steady and firmly drive it forward. One notable benefit of the NuAir DT tires is that they eliminate the danger of flats, making them the safest and most preferred tires.
- Size – 12×16.5, 13.24, 14×24
- Application – the pattern of the DT tires is best suited for off-road conditions: mud, dirt, ground, sand, snow and mining & quarry fields.
- Nu-Air® All Terrain (AT) Tire – as with all NuAir tires, the AT series make no exception with high quality and multiple benefits. A telehandler driven on NuAir tires feels much more stable during the work process, which contributes to higher productivity and guaranteed safety. With the flat-proof technology of the tires, there is no chance that the work can cause damage to the tires or other problems. The AT pattern of the NuAir series represents the most practical option for any hard surface, such as asphalt and concrete. Apart from that, the AT is great when used on off-road terrains. One significant characteristic of the AT series is the pattern design, which is specially selected for more surface contact. This reduces the ground pressure of each tire, which translates to extended tire life.
- Sizes – 12×16.5, 13×24, 14×24
- Application – the AT series do well on any terrain, although they achieve highest performance on abrasive surfaces: cement, concrete, asphalt.
- Nu-Air® Rocky Terrain (RT) Tire – the NuAir RT series tires represent the pinnacle of telehandler tires for tough conditions and troublesome terrain. These tires have been specifically engineered to perform well on harsh ground, such as rocks, as the name suggests. The tires are so effective that they provide maximum traction for telehandlers used on demolition sites and scrap yards, as it is well known that such areas require special tires.
- Sizes – 14×24
- Application – best used for scrap, rock and debris terrain.
